We had the chance to ask Cool Tool’s Chris Grundy some questions about the show, and about the tools that he thinks are the best. Here is the interview:
1. What is the most “wish list worthy” tool? The tool everyone would want to have on their wish list?
A lithium ion impact driver – the extra power these give to setting screws makes everyone feel tough. Oscillating tools may be a good alternative choice since fewer people already have them.
2. What is the one tool you think no DIYer should be with out?
A sense of humor! Because if a job ever went 100 percent as planned we’d be living in some bizarre parallel dimension! After that, I like to have a good piloting countersink for my driver drill. It’s a good way to slow down and remember the “devil is in the details,” so if you take care of the small things and don’t rush, the big picture will be more complete and not have some split wood.
3. What is your favorite thing about being on DIY Network’s Cool Tools?
Getting to be myself, share my love of tools and see everything that’s on the cutting edge.
Thanks Chris! DIY Network will be airing a special “Holiday Blitz” of Cool Tools episodes for the Thanksgiving weekend (starting 11/27 through 11/30) to get you geared up for the holiday season and ready to tackle some of your own DIY projects with the “coolest” tools. The new season of Cool Tools will air immediately after the Holiday Blitz on Thursdays at 9pm.
Wreaths Direct produces the finest trees, wreaths and centerpieces to fulfill all your holiday decorating and gift-giving needs. We received this gorgeous wreath from them to review, and let me just tell you how pretty it is! The photo doesn’t do it justice. And the smell of the fresh greenery is just amazing! It has really helped put our house in the holiday spirit!
All the fresh greenery ships FREE throughout the USA. They have a lot of great gift and decorating items, including fresh holiday wreaths, candy cane wreaths, and centerpieces with a free taper candle. Not only are their products fresh, but they are a family run business. From the site:
Grandma D’s Tree and Wreath Farm is located in the Silverton Hills southeast of Salem, Oregon, adjacent to Silver Falls State Park near Silverton, Oregon.
In the early 1920’s, the De Santis family began purchasing farm land.
This land was first used to plant and harvest strawberries. By the 1960’s, the strawberry crops were phased out, while Noble and Douglas Christmas Trees were gradually planted. By 1990, the Rutherford family, descendants of the De Santis family, managed the tree farm. This family-owned business sells beautiful noble fir wreaths, centerpieces, and trees.
We found the wreath to be very wish list worthy, and a great idea for gift giving as well as decoration! In fact, I already know of a few people who would love to have the fresh scent and gorgeous look of a fresh wreath in their home. Visit the Wreaths Direct Shop to see all the options.
We got the chance to try out the Libman Wonder Mop and absolutely loved it. It’s actually the first real mop that we have owned. We had always hated how you have to wring out traditional mops by hand, so we always went with disposable mopping systems. However, now that we have a Wonder Mop we won’t be going back! It got our floors so much cleaner, and we loved the way the mop had a self wringing sleeve on it so we didn’t have to squeeze the water out with our hands.
The Libman Wonder Mop did a great job cleaning the floor, and after the floor was clean we were able to just wring it out and then toss the washable head into the washing machine. It could not have been any easier.
The Wonder Mop is also very affordable at $10.99, and can be found at Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, Kmart, and most grocery store chains.
These were great! We are a very technologically minded family, so we have a lot of things that need special cleaning. Television screens, computer screens, and of course smaller electronics like iPods, hand held game systems and cell phones. The Weiman E-tronic Wipes worked great on all of the surfaces that we tried!
Not only did it clean the dust that was already on the screen, but they also repel dust from settling again. And, they didn’t leave streaks on our screens either, and dried quickly. Cleaning electronics has always been something that we had a hard time doing because they are sensitive, it was really helpful to find a product made especially for electronics that works well and is easy to use.
The Weiman E-tronic wipes are available at Ace Hardware, Kmart, Target, and True Value stores.
This is a great Family Review Network giveaway from two amazing home product companies, Libman and Weiman. One lucky winner will receive a package full of products to get their home sparkling clean for the holiday season! The prize package is worth $100, and includes the following products:
Wright’s Silver Polish
Perfect Planet Floor Cleaner
Weiman E-tronic Wipes
Weiman Leather Wipes
Weiman Cook Top Wipes
The Wonder Mop
WonderFiber Cloth
