Dirty Bow Wow: A Tribite to Dogs and the Objects of Their Affection
Shelter dogs spend days locked in a confined space, and toys can help brighten a lonely dog’s day and teach them socialization skills that make them more adoptable.
Your help is needed! The Dirty Bow Wow Dog Toy Drive starts May 2009 at bookstores across the country. It’s your chance to help shelter dogs find the toy of their dreams, and hopefully a permanent, loving home. Below is a list of retailers who are collecting dog toy donations or hosting events. Drop off a new dog toy at the location nearest you, and aid a dog in need today! Here is a list of the participating book stores.
We love this book, as we are familiar with the bond between dog and toy. Baby the Maltese has two favorites that are rarely out of her sight! So, if you love dogs too, here’s a chance for you to win a copy of this fun book!

My dog, Taubensee, is a huge fan of a plush red bone. All other plush toys have been de-stuffed in a matter of minutes. The stuffed bone? He’s had it for over three years.

all my dogs are favorite becuase they are just like my children and I try not to play favorites with them..
the toys well they like stuffed animals inside but outside unless you are playing with them they will not play with a toy but they love playing with whatever flies in the backyard or runs chasing them around and nope they do not hunt but are great at what they do.

My dog’s favorite toy is a pink squeaky toy that looks like a round monster.
My little dog, Rocky, has had a favorite toy since he was a tiny pup 8 years ago. It’s a President Bill Clinton toy, that we affectionately call “Slick Willy”…..he adores it!!
We have 2 springer spaniels who absolutely love their nylabones. they hide them in our pillows on the bed

My Harleydog’s favorite toy is a big stuffed monkey. She destroys all other toys in seconds but this is her “real baby” She carries it around the house wherever she goes and spend hours grooming it. She is so proud to show everyone her baby.

My Jellybean(15 year old,spaniel-terrier mutt) is my favorite and he has two laundry baskets full of favorite toys.
I’ve had Boxers in my past and their favorite toy was always their tied up rope.
Sadie’s favorite to is her pinky. It’s an almost 4 year old, ratty, torn up, pink bunny with missing limbs

My whippets favorite toy is a squeaky sock monkey.
My 85 pound Golden Retriever’s favorite toy is a dirty, smelly, squeeky stuffed rabbit we call “Mr. Bunny.” I’ve had to perform “surgery” on this poor rabbit about 10 times because my pup is so enamored of it, he chews it up. Love bites, I guess!

Mitzi’s favorite toys are the remains of a chewed up ball of yearn(she has been playing with it for the past six months) and one of my son’s detachable hoods from his winter jacket.
