Giveaway: Joshua Bell; At Home With Friends
I hadn’t heard of Joshua Bell until I got the chance to review his new album, At Home With Friends. It turns out that he is a Grammy Award winning violinist! This particular album came about from his love of hosting music evenings in his home. Well, he certainly has some talented friends to collaborate with!
I always love to hear new artists, and this album sounded so different from anything else I had heard before. It didn’t hurt that Sting, and Regina Spektor, both of whom make music I love, took part in the album. In fact, the Regina Spektor track turned out to be my favorite one. I also really love the fast beats of the song Para Ti, a fun world beat song.
The album is such a varied range of musical styles, from classics to Brodway, jazz, bluegrass, and even a Beatles cover! There are even some seasonal songs. All of the songs have a very different mood and feeling, but they all showcase what a talented violinist Joshua Bell is.

rock and hip hop is my favortite type of music but will listen to just about everything
I love ALL styles of music. I lean mainly on Hard Rock, Americana, Rock-a-billy, and country from the 70′s but I a truly believe that the love of music can not and should not be harnessed into falling into one “style” of music. For some of you, if you are not open, you may only buy this cd expecting classical violin but then you miss out on one of the BEST adaptations of a classic rock song, ‘Eleanor Rigby’, something you truly HAVE to hear.
