Itty Bitty Fortune Cookie

One of my favorite things is breaking open a fortune after Chinese food. That little cookie, with it’s fortune tucked inside, has always held a bit of wonder for me. So of course I was very excited to get an Itty Bitty Fortune Cookie necklace from Amy Peters’ Studio for this review.

This is truly a fun, unique, and high quality necklace that can be worn daily. It has become a fast favorite, and already I have gotten comments from people on how cute it is.

The necklaces come with a choice from the following fortunes words are: Balance, Journey, Love, Peace, Success and Strength. The fortune is on a silver “paper” that is next to a tiny 14K gold plated fortune cookie, on a silver link chain.

We got to test drive a pure black RockBoom, and while I have the older version of the iPod Nano, the case still worked well for me, especially for use as a speaker. It came in real handy when I was talking with my friend about a song that she hadn’t heard before. No need to try to describe it, I just pulled out the case and played it for her! I can see the speaker/case being a perfect gift for the music lover who is always on the go. It would be a fun item to have on a romantic pic-nic, or for those times when you want to listen to music but don’t want to wear headphones.

They also offer some other styles in the ChicBoom version, which works the same way as the RockBoom. We liked that the case has a zip closure, and especially that there is an elastic strap inside to hold the slim line nano iPod (or other small mp3 device) in place. It also offers quiet a bit of protection for the player, which is great if you often have yours out in the open or inside a bag of any kind.

It runs off of AAA batteries, and has a 3.5mm jack to easily connect the player to the speaker. We thought this was a product worth wishing for! We hope that they will make them to hold the iPod Touch/iPhone in the future because the RockBoom is so handy. You can purchase them online at ChicBuds for $24.99.

The bags come in singles, or in packs, and they offer a great variety of patterns and colors. The bag I got is called Destination, which features an Eiffel Tower, and cherry blossoms. What I loved the most though is that it comes in a handy travel holder that can clip to the inside of my purse. This way I can always have my bag on hand, making it very easy to use for shopping in place of plastic. I don’t know about you, but often the biggest obstacle to making the switch is just remembering to bring a reusable bag along.

Bags are a great value, starting at $9.50 for a single. These are high quality bags, made of water resistant nylon, and can hold 2-3 grocery bags worth of goods. The bags are very fun though, and can easily be used for all your shopping, or even as a purse/tote for everyday use.

I also thought it was charming how the company got started. Not only do I really like the bag, but I always love to support small business when possible, but you would never know that these bags had such humble beginnings, they are so nice! The idea of the bags was developed in the spring of 2007, my then six year-old son’s kindergarten class was dared to go a whole week without using paper or plastic bags. It was Earth week and my son was learning about what we can do as individuals to help save the planet. Although I had always thought reusable bags were a great idea, that little push from my son was all I needed to start changing my ways. Forced at the counter to buy the store’s logo-laden bags, I found that like other people, I kept forgetting my bags at home. I found them too bulky and quite frankly, pretty ugly. I also became really conscious of all my family’s bag usage, not only at the grocery store, but at the mall, traveling, and even at the pool carrying our wet swimsuits home. I found myself looking for bags that had to fit four requirements: affordable, compactable, versatile and above all, fashionable. Pump Gloves

What are Pump Gloves you ask? They are super fun gloves that cover your hands while you are at the pump! As their saying goes “Don’t Be a Ditz, Cover Your Mitts”!

I recently got a pair from the company to review, and I have to admit, I love them. Especially now that the weather is getting really cold and wet, these are great to have on hand when I go to the gas station. They keep my hands warm, dry, and clean. Plus, I think they look really adorable. Sure my husband accused me of being a “prissy girl” when he first saw them, but I would rather keep my hands warm and happy than be a “tough cookie”!

They are very soft inside, and come in the cutest package! They even come with a handy storage bag that fits perfectly in a glove compartment or center storage unit in the car. I also think they would make a perfect gift for the girl who has everything! I don’t know about you, but filling up the car with gas is one of my least favorite things to do, but these gloves make it a lot more pleasant. Who knew?

Of course, I love that they are machine washable, because after several uses, especially with the upcoming snow and muck season around the corner, I am sure they will need freshening up! Here is a bit about the company:

I couldn’t have asked for a better pair to review, they are super cute and do tend to attract some attention at the pump as well!
