Dana Elle Scented Candles

If you are looking for a candle that is both gorgeous and unique, then Dana Elle candles are for you! We recently received the “Pretty in Pink” candle, which features a blend of pomegranate, pink grapefruit, cranberry and lemon zest scent. The artisan blown glass that the candle comes in is absolutely one of a kind and oh so pretty.

Of course, the Pretty in Pink candle from Dana Elle is more than just a candle, it’s a candle with a purpose! 25% of revenues will be donated to Cure Breast Cancer For ME. Each candle is handcrafted in Maine using a soy wax blend, fine fragrances and glass blown by local artisans. “Pretty in Pink” is offered for a limited time in a 2 oz candle tin and 11 oz artisan glass, $6 to $60 each.

We were also impressed at how the candle came packaged. The box the candle arrived in was designed really well, and made it feel like we were getting a special gift, not just a candle. I always notice things like that. We also love that they use soy in their wax blend since soy burns more cleanly, and of course the fact that each candle is hand made in the USA appeals to us too.

Please visit Dana Elle to see all of the great options, and especially take a look at the “Pretty in Pink” candle while you are there!

DaysAgo Digital Day Counter

The DaysAgo digital day counter is one of the coolest things for the kitchen! How many times have you wondered when you opened something? I know that I have always wanted an easy way to keep track of when certain foods were opened, and the DaysAgo is it! Small enough to fit on top of a jar, or to use on the refrigerator, it easily keeps count of when you opened something. Simply start the timer once you open the food, and it does the rest!

The DaysAgo timer is now in a special edition for breast cancer support. The company donates 10% of sales of the Pink DaysAgo to support breast cancer awareness. Here is a bit more about it and why they are passionate about the cause:

Kathleen Whitehurst, a 10-year breast cancer survivor and co-inventor of the award-winning DaysAgo® Digital Day Counter, has introduced the special edition Pink DaysAgo as part of her commitment to helping women of all ages get into the habit of doing self breast exams. Kathleen’s company donates 10 % of sales from the Pink DaysAgo to support breast cancer awareness, including Breast Cancer Network of Strength. The Pink DaysAgo counts days at the touch of a button. Women can simply stick the DaysAgo to their bathroom mirror as an easy, monthly reminder to do a breast self-exam. For your health – and everything else that needs tracking, — the Pink DaysAgo is available for retail purchase at Amazon.com and through the DaysAgo web site.

Visit www.howmanydaysago.com to get your own timers. They are priced just right, and once you have them you will wonder how you ever lived without it!

Hawaiian Kine Stuff

I have always been in love with Hawaii, even though I still haven’t gotten a chance to visit it in person! My parents used to live there, and so we have always had a bit of a connection. Plus, it’s absolutely gorgeous, and the people are great! So, if you are like me and want a taste of the islands, but can’t afford a trip over, then Hawaiian Kine Stuff is the website for you!

They have everything, from shirts, to dashboard hula girls (and guys), and even Hawaiian style shirts for your dog! We got a dashboard hula girl from them recently and let me tell you, it’s the real deal! It’s got great details, and it’s nice and solid. It’s not like what you find in the shops around here, this is a hula girl that’s going to last!

They also shipped very fast, and were great with their customer service. If everything else on the site is as nice of quality as our hula girl, which I suspect it is, then we can say the site is very wish list worthy! So, if you need some great Hawaiian goods in your life (and who doesn’t) be sure to check out Hawaiian Kine Stuff.

Himalayan Trading Post

The Himalayan Trading Post is an amazing web store that offers unique handmade candles.  Just look at the candle we got to try out, the Fleur de Lys tumbler in the Peony scent. Here is what it looks like:

The photo from the website doesn’t do it justice though, here is a photo that I took of just how pretty this candle is when it is burning in a dark room:

Because it’s made from soy wax, the candle is clean burning, and it also has a strong scent that you can smell in the room even when the candle isn’t lit. It also has a nice long burn time (50 hours). I really love the look of the candle, but it’s also important to me that they are handmade with a desire to offer a great product with out a lot of excess packaging. They are also reusable and refillable, making them a great decorative investment.

We both think that Himalayan Trading Post is wish list worthy! Visit their website and see all the amazing candles they offer to see why we give them an entusiastic thumbs up!

Bored Inc: Decorama

Decorama decals from Bored Inc are an easy and fun way to add interest to your walls. We got the chance to test drive one ourselves! This is the design that we got:

deco220-birdbranch

Applying the decal to the wall is just like putting a sticker on. Just be sure to wash the spot that you are going to put it on, and then make sure it’s completely dry on the wall. I imagine that it would also go on a smooth surface better than a wall with “orange peel” texture like ours has, but it still went on our wall and is holding strong! The decals are removeable (though not reusable), so it would be a fun and easy way to dress up a wall in a rental without being worried about making your landlord upset.

With so many fun and different designs of Decorama to choose from, and with reasonable prices, we think that it is very wish list worthy! Bored Inc offers a lot of other fun things in their shop as well, including tees, buttons, jewlery, and much more.
