Celebrate with Puppy Cake

If you have ever wanted to celebrate your dog’s special occasions (birthdays, holidays, adoption day), but wanted something more special than the treats you find at the store, then Puppy Cake is for you! Puppy Cake is a cake mix made just for dogs! It even comes with yogurt frosting, making it quick and easy to make a special treat for your furry friend.

Puppy Cake mixes come in two flavors: Fifi’s Favorite Carob and Buddy’s Best Banana.  Just like making a cake for yourself, you simply add oil, egg, and water, then bake it as a cake or cupcakes. You can even make it in the microwave if you are short on time. The best part is, everything is human grade, and Puppy Cake mixes are made with natural and vet approved ingredients. Each box makes 6 medium sized cupcakes or a double layer 4” round cake.

Baby the Maltese especially loved the banana cake mix (we are going to have to order more for upcoming holidays)! In fact, we didn’t even get a chance to snap a photo in time, she was so excited to dig in and eat her cupcake! She really loves yogurt and cake in general, so we were very happy to have something for her that was made just for a dog’s needs instead of giving her tastes of our human cakes.

You can purchase Puppy Cake mixes online, or by phone, at the Puppy Cake website. A wheat-free peanut flavor is set to be released in early 2010, which sounds like something our dog would love. They even offer free shipping for orders over $20, and a money back guarantee. Paws up for Puppy Cake!

Chobani Greek Yogurt

Chobani Greek Yougurt recently came out with a line of products for kids, and we got to try them out! The line is called Chobani Champions, and is the first all natural, low fat Greek yogurt made just for kids. Now, we aren’t kids, and don’t have kids, but we LOVED the flavors and the texture of the yogurts.

My personal favorite was the strawnana, which as the name implies, is a strawberry banana flavor. I also really liked the honeynana, which had a really good honey flavor to it. Most of all I loved that the yogurt was smooth, something which I really prefer.

The yogurt is all natural, with no preservatives or artificial flavors. I also love the size of the cup, which is the perfect snack size (at least for me it was just right). It is also made with real fruit, and is even gluten free! Chobani makes yogurts for adults too, in plain and fruit flavors (they even have pomegranate!). You can find it at Whole Foods Market, Costco, and Sam’s Club, and some supermarkets.

I had never experienced Greek yogurt before, but I am hooked! You can learn more about Chobani by visiting their website, and you can even follow their nutritionist, Nicki, on Twitter. One more thing that we really loved? They donate 10% of their annual profits to some amazing charities from around the world! Very wish list worthy!

Love Struck Toaster from Pop Art

If you are looking for a unique gift for your Valentine, or something fun to show your love everyday, then the Love Struck toaster is for you! The toaster is super cute, works well, and comes with 4 different designs that show your love right on your toast!

It’s so much fun to use too. Speaking as one who happens to love toast, I was really excited to give it a try. I was not disappointed at all, and it was a riot to be able to surprise my husband at breakfast with a special message of love right there on his food! The plates are very easy to remove and install, so you can change messages easily. It even comes with a special little tool to help you lift the plates out of the toaster, though I was able to just use my fingers with no problem.

For more information, including where to buy and other styles of Pop Art Toasters, be sure to visit their website. We think this would make a memorable gift for Valentine’s day, and it lasts much longer than flowers too!

enVbags

Being kind to the planet is something that we strive to do in our household. Reusable bags are one of the easiest ways to reduce waste, and with so many stylish options, it’s also a fun way to express your personality! Recently I got a chance to try out a bag from enVbags!

The bags come in singles, or in packs, and they offer a great variety of patterns and colors. The bag I got is called Destination, which features an Eiffel Tower, and cherry blossoms. What I loved the most though is that it comes in a handy travel holder that can clip to the inside of my purse. This way I can always have my bag on hand, making it very easy to use for shopping in place of plastic. I don’t know about you, but often the biggest obstacle to making the switch is just remembering to bring a reusable bag along.

Bags are a great value, starting at $9.50 for a single. These are high quality bags, made of water resistant nylon, and can hold 2-3 grocery bags worth of goods. The bags are very fun though, and can easily be used for all your shopping, or even as a purse/tote for everyday use.

I also thought it was charming how the company got started. Not only do I really like the bag, but I always love to support small business when possible, but you would never know that these bags had such humble beginnings, they are so nice! Be sure to visit the website to see all the design options.

The idea of the bags was developed in the spring of 2007, my then six year-old son’s kindergarten class was dared to go a whole week without using paper or plastic bags. It was Earth week and my son was learning about what we can do as individuals to help save the planet. Although I had always thought reusable bags were a great idea, that little push from my son was all I needed to start changing my ways. Forced at the counter to buy the store’s logo-laden bags, I found that like other people, I kept forgetting my bags at home. I found them too bulky and quite frankly, pretty ugly. I also became really conscious of all my family’s bag usage, not only at the grocery store, but at the mall, traveling, and even at the pool carrying our wet swimsuits home. I found myself looking for bags that had to fit four requirements: affordable, compactable, versatile and above all, fashionable. I should also mention that I have been in the fashion world for quite sometime, and since no one had yet developed a bag that fit all my requirements, I figured, “why can’t I?”… and EnV Bags was born.

If you are thinking of making the switch, be sure you add a few enVbags to your wish list!

Code.ai eyelash and brow regeneration

I have always had pretty great eyelashes, but I had noticed that they were a bit thinner than in the past. Maybe just the combination of age and years of use (mascara), had thinned them out a bit. So I was very excited to try the Code.ai serum that is meant to regenerate eyelashes, and also one that is meant for eyebrows. It’s available with out a prescription, and you can start to see changes in two weeks of use.

It did make a difference! I had tried to take a before and after photo of my eyelashes, but I could not get a good shot for the life of me. Below is a before and after shot from the Code.ai website showing a result after 6 weeks of use, you can see it’s pretty dramatic!

However, I can tell a difference in the way my lashes feel and look, and especially when I put on mascara. It is very easy to use, just apply it to clean lids daily (you can do once a day, but they do recommend morning and evening for best results). While I didn’t need any help with my eyebrows (the serum is great for patch or bald brows), it did work well to hold a great shape in my brow.

I really liked that they made it non-irritating, and that it has been tested to be safe and non-clogging. Of course, being an animal lover I was also very glad to learn that the product was not tested on animals, and that it is free from parabens. I always worry when I try new products on my skin because my skin is very sensitive. Code.ai didn’t irritate my skin.
