Halloween Candles

Saturday
Sep 20,2008

I love these flame free candles for Halloween. Not only do they look great, but they make spooky sounds too! They are battery operated and come in a spider web design or a witch design. I think they are both wish list worthy and would love to have some for my Halloween decoration collection.

Skin MD Lotion

One of the things that I have struggled with for my whole life is very dry hands. In fact, when I was young my mom used to put Vaseline on my hands before bedtime, and then I would have to sleep in gloves. They were so bad that they would crack and bleed, and often they still do if I am not diligent about putting on lotion often.

So of course when I got the chance to try out Skin MD Natural I was excited to see if it would work well to keep my poor skin from cracking. Let me just say, I love this stuff! I love the way it feels after I put it on, because it doesn’t feel like there is lotion on. I also love that there really isn’t an obvious scent. It’s perfect for those of us who are sensitive to smell. From the website:

Skin MD Naturalâ„¢ utilizes the finest effective natural skin care ingredients for dry skin treatment along with the latest advances in dry skin care technology to hydrate and protect the skin.

This is an entirely new concept in skin care requiring a new classification: “Shielding Lotion”. A shielding lotion keeps moisture-robbing irritants away from the skin while the proprietary “super” humectants hydrate the skin throughout the day.

An accumulated effect of Skin MD Natural is fully realized after only a few days of daily use. Depending on how dry your skin is the first few days may require reapplications after only a few hours. Usually, after a few days of continuous use, only one or two daily applications are necessary for complete dry skin care.

I have to say that I really could tell a difference after using it for a week. It worked very well keeping my hands soft even after being in the garden working in the dirt, which is very drying to skin.

Highly recommended!

Tees For Change

Saturday
Sep 13,2008

I think that Tees For Change has a lot of wish list worthy stuff! I especially love their shirts, and think it would be a lot of fun to walk around in one. After all, we could all use a bit more positivity out in the world, and the messages on their shirts are uplifting. They are also made of bamboo (which if the shirts feel anything like our bamboo sheets, they will be super soft).

Now that the days are getting shorter, and we are starting to spend more time inside the house, I am being drawn to candles and other things that make the cooler nights more cozy. I really like the simplicity and elegance of this candle holder from Mikasa.

I have the perfect vanilla scented candle for it too… but it would also be a nice gift for breast cancer awareness month. Just imagine it with a pink candle!

Ceramic Nightstand

There is something very neat about this nightstand… it’s ceramic! I really love the color, and the simple shape. The nice thing is that it can be used outside or inside. The only downside is it’s hefty $1900 price tag! I guess that is the price you pay when you are buying a handmade piece.

Because who doesn’t need a talking animal to light the way? I think these are really fun and cute, and of course, functional.

They come as a set of three, and use LED lights, which means they will last a long time. Click the image to be taken to the Uncommon Goods website.

This cute “new puppy gift set” is a great way to welcome a new bundle of fluff into your life, and it is a really great gift for a new dog owner as well.

Pink October Update

Saturday
Aug 30,2008

I am so excited about the upcoming Pink October 2008! Already we have had some wonderful prizes offered, and I can’t wait to see how much money we earn for Komen this time around. Some of you have had some questions about sponsoring a prize, so I wanted to do a quick post and hopefully answer all of them.

  • Each prize will have their own giveaway post. This gives each sponsor a nice write up and allows the product to be showcased.
  • Each sponsor has the option to receive a 125×125 ad spot on this blog for a year as a thank you for donating. We just ask that you send us the image, as we don’t have time to create one for you.
  • Every giveaway is promoted on several sites, including Online Sweepstakes, Twitter, Facebook, and many other great blogs that promote giveaways, and of course friends of ours as well.
  • As a sponsor, please feel free to promote your giveaway post in anyway that you would like. You will be notified of the day your post is going live.
  • Past giveaways have gone over 100 entries, some even higher depending on the product, and we always like to include that they should visit your site as part of the entry process.
  • Each giveaway post will include a link to Komen and encourage people to donate to our Komen team. The purpose of Pink October is to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer research, and although a donation is not required for entry, it is encouraged.

If you have any other questions, or would like to become a sponsor, leave a comment on this post and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Thanks!
