Recently Bissell provided us with a Bissell 5770 Healthy Home Bagless Upright Vacuum to review. We were both really excited to see how it would compare to our Dyson. On the upside, it works just as well at bringing up dirt and everything else on the floor. In fact, it brought up a lot of things that our other vacuum left behind. We are thrilled with the cleaning capacity of this vacuum, and is a great option if you are on a budget but still want a powerful cleaning vacuum.

The vacuum also comes with a bottom emptying canister, which we love. It’s not as easy to open, and I found that I would have to pull the bottom down a bit when emptying, but maybe after a few more uses it will loosen and start to open with just the release button. It also has a great hose that has attachments, and even a non-tip design. I really love that it doesn’t tip over easily when using the hose.

The vacuum uses multi-cyclonic technology and AireTight HEPA filtration system, to clean and trap dust mites, pollen, mold spores and pet dander. It also has MicroBan antimicrobial coating to fight the growth of odor-causing bacteria, mold, and mildew.

On the downside, it is a large unit which is also pretty heavy. However, those were the only complaints we had. It does a great job on cleaning the carpets. There is even a light, which really helps when vacuuming in darker spaces. We like how the hose is stored on the vacuum, as well as the attachments. Of course we especially love the canister, and as allergy suffers, we appreciate the filter.

I love to garden, in fact, one of the main reasons I wanted to own a home was so I could have a yard of my own to play in. Oh how I wish I had known about the GardenScribe back when we first bought our home! I was very excited to get a chance to review this product! What a great tool for anyone who gardens, and especially if you are just starting to plan a garden too.

It works like a garden scrapbook, with a page for each plant. There is a photo holder so you can add your own photo of your plant, or just slip in the tag that comes with the plant (or both). Then on the rest of the page it has a ton of information to fill out that will help you know what works for the plant. It’s such an easy and convenient way to keep all the information organized. I was using a small box before to store all my plant tags, and let’s just say that wasn’t cutting it!

GardenScribe Binder

The GardenScribe is well made, and very large, with room for many plant pages! There is even a great garden planning tool included so you can draw out your future plans with ease. The binder is pre-loaded with pages to fill out for each plant, as well as category tabs like annuals, trees, perennials, shrubs, etc.  Not only does the binder really help keep track of everything in your garden, it looks great doing it too. The cover color and material are both attractive, and since it is for the garden, the cover is easy to clean as well.

The company even offers an online resource of  Plant Knowledge if you want to know even more about your plant. I can’t wait to really put my binder to use in the spring when I plan to add new perennials and other plants to the garden. It was a lot of fun to use for planning our fall vegetable garden as well.

Febreze has come out with a very cool product for the home! The Febreze Flameless Luminary!

They look great, like a real candle luminary, and they smell very good! Ours came in the green tea citrus scent, which while not our favorite scent, it was strong enough to make a difference in the room. We are excited to try the seasonal  scents that will be coming out, especially the vanilla frost.

The shade part of the luminary is what has the scent in it. The luminary base is wood, with a nice, dark shade that fits in any decor. The LED light is shaped like a pyramid, which we thought was fun, and it really does create a great looking glow that looks like a real candle!

We really like it, and think it’s a fun way to add scent to your home.

Laundry is something that most of us have to do at least once a week. Sometimes more often. And while it’s not the most fun chore, it’s not the worst chore either. However, making any chore easier is never a bad thing, and Purex Complete 3-in-1 laundry sheets do make things a lot easier!

We got the chance to try them out recently, and I am hooked! They contain detergent, fabric softener, and anti-static all in one simple sheet that travels from the washer to the dryer. No measuring, no spilling detergent, no mess! They are really very easy to use, and they do the job well. I also really love that the scent is barely noticeable (we tried the pure and clean scent). Our previous detergent always left me sneezing. The Purex Complete just leaves behind a clean garment.

I never used fabric softener before, but it really does make a difference. The anti-static properties seem very good as well, doing just as well as our previous dryer sheet. This is very important to us since we live in a dry climate. Each part of the simple, easy to use sheet, did exactly what it was supposed to do and did it well.
